Dr Siphilisiwe Nhlovu has been elected as chairperson of the SA Paint Manufacturing Association (SAPMA) Technical Committee.
Dr Ndlovu graduated with a BSc in Chemistry from the University of Cape Town in 1999 and continued to study there towards an MSc in Material Science which she obtained in 2002. In August 2002, she joined Plastamid as a Development Chemist, focusing on the development of polymer composites for the OEM and related industries; and in 2004, moved to Germany to pursue a PhD in the field of Materials Engineering at the Institute of General Material Properties at Friedrich Alexander University in Erlangen.
Upon returning to South Africa in 2010, she joined Plascon South Africa as a Coatings Specialist and currently holds the position of Senior Executive: Development for Kansai Plascon in Krugersdorp.
