Maiduguri Airport in Nigeria set for reconstruction

Maiduguri Airport in Nigeria is set to undergo reconstruction two years after it was shut down over terrorism fears.

Kashim Shetima, the Borno State Governor, commended the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) for taking up the step of reconstructing the airport which is expected to stimulate the State’s economy activities.

The reconstruction process of Maiduguri Airport in Nigeria is expected to be completed soon to serve the people of Borno State.

Across Nigeria, renovation and expansion of some airports have been completed and some are ongoing.
An additional new international terminal is currently under construction at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos.

The project aims at turning the airport into a major regional hub with modern state of-the-art screening machines capable of detecting explosive materials and potential threats.
