Johnstaff MD Phil Johnston says he thinks Africa will grow hugely over the next decade, while the Australian market is quite mature.
The Melbourne-based consulting engineering and project management firm is active in East and West Australia, as well as in Perth. The company launched in South Africa 16 months ago.
“We considered that there were few growth opportunities left for the company in Australia, and then made the decision to start up an office here in South Africa,” says Johnston.
