Aurecon is aiming for a Green Star South Africa (SA) rating for a new R88-million green office building that will be built alongside its existing Century City office building, in Cape Town.
Aurecon, which built the first five-star Green Star SA Office Design v1-rated office in 2011, said it was “rapidly outgrowing” its office space and would join the first building – Aurecon East – to the new one, Aurecon West, through a sky bridge.
The 3,280- m2, two-level office space, will have three parking levels containing 152 undercover parking bays. Construction will start early in 2015, scheduled for completion by November.
Rabie Property will develop the building, which will be owned by Ingenuity Properties, while Aurecon will provider the engineering services and the Green Star rating application..
MaC Architects will assist with the design of the building, while Ludwig Design Consulting will assist with the Green Star rating process.
