Aveng Grinaker-LTA Civil Engineering has been awarded a R92 million contract for the South African National Roads Agency (SANRAL) to resurface the 40.6-km road between Sun City and Boshoek in the North West province.
The scope of work for the NR R556 Section 1 from R510 to Sun City and R565 Section 1 from N4 to Boshoek consists of an asphalt overlay of 35/45mm (CGMG A-E2 36,300t) and SMA 20mm (A-E2 7mm). Further work includes rehabilitation and ancillary works, including base repair patches (720t) and edge break repairs (150t), 64,000 m of crack sealing and 285,700 m² of asphalt reinforcing grid.
