Because Kenya and China currently have a firm relationship, creating a conducive business environment, Chinese-based global manufacturer, AVIC International Holding Corporation, will construct a $200mn office complex in Nairobi to be its African Headquarters.
The manufacturer’s Africa Director, Huang Hong, added that the company wants to expand its business in Africa. They already have 110 branches in over 50 countries across the world and over 20 branches in Africa. Kenya will be their headquarters in Africa.
The 7-acre site in Westlands Nairobi will also include residential units for their staff and a hotel.
With the support of the Kenyan government, the project is expected to create about 3000 job opportunities and 4000 once the project is complete.
AVIC International Kenya has ongoing mega projects in Kenya which include the construction of Terminal 4 at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) and the Greenfield Airport.
