The Board of Bamburi Cement Limited announced the appointment of Bruno Pescheux as the Chief Executive Officer and a member of the Board of Directors with effect from 21 July 2014.
Mr Pescheux previously held the position of Chief Executive Officer at Lafarge Syria.
The company’s Board re-affirmed that with 60 years of cement manufacture and innovation in East Africa, Bamburi remains committed to excellence in providing construction solutions.
The change will not affect the strategic orientation within East Africa, particularly its presence in Uganda or shareholding in any of its subsidiaries.
The Board thanked Hussein Mansi for his contributions as CEO of Bamburi Cement Limited over the past five years.
The changes come at a time when Kenya and the East African region are experiencing an upsurge in construction activity, headlined by huge infrastructure projects.
