A new tender for the construction of a dedicated cruise terminal at Cape Town harbour will be issued before the end of December, Public Enterprises Minister Lynne Brown said in response to a parliamentary question.
The new tender, which was still being finalised, would replace the first – unsuccessful – tender that was shelved by the Transnet National Ports Authority (TNPA) in October.
TNPA decided not to award the tender as none of the bidders met the request for proposal requirements.
Only two applications had been received prior to the initial tender processes being called off, Brown added.
