Charl Venter has been elected president of Master Builders Association (MBA) North, in succession to Lea Smith.

Venter, 40, holds a BSc (Construction Management) degree from the University of Pretoria. He is a Director of and Shareholder in the Pretoria construction company, J.C. van der Linde & Venter Projects and, after graduation, worked for TCL Granby (Pty) Ltd in London for three years as Quantity Surveyor where he was responsible for managing several contracts including British Telecom exchange refurbishments and BBC projects.

Venter was the 2013-2014 vice-president of MBA North and has served on the association’s Executive Committee since 2011.

After an amendment to its Constitution, MBA North will from this year have three vice-presidents to assist in the operations of the association. Werner Kroon of WF Kroon Projects in Pretoria, Tony Riley of Massbuild, and Jason Wilmot of Hard Hat Equipment Hire, were elected as vice-presidents.
