Coverland launches new concrete tile plant in Polokwane

24 July 2017

Wednesday, 28 June marked a special day for Coverland Polokwane as it officially opened its concrete tile plant in the city with Coverland Monier CEO, Hannelie van der Walt, cutting the ribbon.

Coverland originally started in Polokwane in 2014 with a depot and by 2015 Coverland purchased an already existing roof tile plant which it took over officially from June 2016.

Work on the planned upgrade started in November 2016 and was completed in June 2017.

“Today we are proud to announce the opening of our plant. We are even more proud about the fact that our Coverland personnel built the new plant themselves. This is one of our dream projects, which now has come true,” Van der Walt said.

She added the Coverland Polokwane factory was one of nine concrete tile manufacturing plants under the Coverland umbrella. The new plant in Polokwane is now the second largest Coverland plant.

Coverland, founded in 1949, has since become the largest concrete roof tile manufacturer in South Africa and aims to add more extensive infrastructure investments over the next few years to increase its capacity product output, enhancing its product quality and also extending its current product range on offer.

The opening of the new Coverland Polokwane factory is proof of its commitment to deliver the best and sufficiently to its clients.
