Dangote plans new cement factory in Congo

Nigeria and Africa’s richest business mogul, Aliko Dangote, announced on Tuesday that his conglomerate, Dangote Group, plans to build a cement factory in Yamba, southern Congo, in an investment worth 292.9 million dollars, Business Day reports.

Dangote spoke after a meeting with Congolese President Denis Sassou Nguesso, according to a statement from the presidency.

Construction work for the factory, which will produce over 1.5 million tonnes of cement per year and create more than 650 jobs, will span two and a half years.
