Economy: Dangote urges Nigerians to be patient

05 January 2016

President of Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote has urged Nigerians to be patient with the present administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.

Speaking on the current challenges facing the country, Dangote says Nigerians should not despair but have faith in the ability of the federal government to turn the nation’s economy around.

While assuring Nigerians that the present challenges will soon be a thing of the past, the business mogul called for more indigenous and foreign investment into the country, Dangote, addressing a group of businessmen visiting his Lagos office, appealed to Nigerians to contribute by doing what is right and paying their taxes for the country to record real growth and development.

Dangote said many investors whose businesses are thriving and doing well are still in the country because they are optimistic about the economy stabilising, while also promising that his company will invest more in Nigeria and create more jobs.

Alongside the former minister of defence, Theophilus Danjuma, Dangote was recently appointed as member of a powerful committee that will soon be inaugurated by President Buhari to oversee the crisis in Nigeria’s northeast.
