Heron Banks Estate brings power infrastructure to 10,000 Vaal Triangle homes

27 July 2017

Heron Banks Golf & River Estate, an eco-estate situated on the banks of the Vaal River, has announced the development of an 88KV overhead power line that will be constructed from the substation on the R59 to Heron Banks. This 3.5 km of power line will bring electrical infrastructure to Heron Banks and the communities in the surrounding areas.

With Nedbank as a partner in the development, the recent R35 million equity injection supplied by the developer, will secure the power infrastructure and the future of the development.

“This gives the municipality the freedom in the future to expand other developments along the river front. Heron Banks needs power for approximately 600 houses. The 88KV line will create enough infrastructure for ±10 000 houses in the future – a huge infrastructure boost for the Vaal triangle,” says Simon Malan, Development Manager, Heron Banks.

Heron Banks is a luxurious eco-community development and 18 hole golf course situated between pristine wetlands and the Vaal River. It is only 45 minutes from Johannesburg and 15 minutes from Sasolburg.

“The objective is for residents of Heron Banks to have everything they would need in a secure living home environment at their disposal without leaving the premises – making it a one stop shop for the Vaal triangle,” adds Malan.

There are further lifestyle offerings planned for Heron Banks such as a boutique hotel and conference facilities planned for the next phase of development.
