Professional body Engineers Ireland, the team that delivered the Jeffreys Bay wind farm have been shortlisted for an ‘Engineering Project of the Year’, international engineering award.
This year, the shortlist featured three Irish projects, as well as three international projects – all carried out by Irish engineers – and remained open to the public to vote.
The 60-turbine 138 MW/d Jeffreys Bay plant, completed in May, was expected to supply enough electricity to power about 115,000 homes at full capacity.
