Lafarge Africa Plc has announced the appointment of its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Bruno Bayet following the resignation of Anders Kristiansson at its Board of Directors Meeting on September 30th 2016.
Lafarge noted that Bayet’s appointment as the CFO was effective from October 1st 2016. Bayet is a Belgian who holds a business engineer degree from Universite Catholique de Louvain-la-Neuve in Belgium.
He completed his MBA program in Georgetown University and specialised in Financial Risks Management. He was a manager in corporate finance with PricewaterhouseCooper from 1998 to 2005, after which he joined Groupe Bruxelles Lambert, a €12bn Belgian Holding Company from 2005 to 2011 in the investments team as Senior Analyst.
Prior to Joining Lafarge in 2014, he was an Executive Committee Member and CFO of Enterprise Generale Malta Forrest in Democratic Republic of Congo from 2011 to 2013, specialising in the mining and construction industry.
Bruno gained over 16 years’ experience in materials and construction Industry. He was appointed Director of Ashaka Cement Plc in December 2013, heading the expansion and the Power project in Ashaka and combined the role of CFO of Ashakacem Plc since September 2014, and was nominated as strategy director for Lafarge in Nigeria in April 2016.
