Lafarge commits over N100m to develop 12 Ogun communities

Lafarge Africa Plc has committed over N100million to the development of 12 of its host communities in Ogun State this year, according to MD/CEO, Adepeju Adebajo.

While granting bursary awards to 100 undergraduate students from Ewekoro, he added that over 1,300 persons from the 12 communities had benefited from the company’s undergraduates Bursary scheme in the last eight years.

“Lafarge Africa has spent over N100 million in 2015 on various developmental projects across Ewekoro local government area. Today, we are distributing N100,000 cheque as scholarship and bursary awards to 168 indigent students from various institutions of higher learning, who are residents of 12 communities in Ewekoro.

“Lafarge will continue to live to its billing as a socially responsible and community focused organisation. We require the continued cooperation from all stakeholders, particularly our neighbouring communities to remain afloat and be able to deliver on our promises.”
