08 April 2016

President of the Moroccan Group Addoha, Anas Sefrioui, said on Wednesday in Abidjan that his cement production would increase to 2 million tons with the opening of its plant in the port city of San Pedro (southwest of Cote d’Ivoire).

“Tomorrow (Thursday) we will launch a cement factory of one million tons, which will bring to 2 million tons, the production capacity of the group. The plant will be operational in 18 months, i.e. the end of 2017 at the latest.”

Sefroui discussed the investment made in the country, starting in 2011when they installed a cement plant of 500,000 tonnes in the industrial district of Yopougon.

“A few weeks ago, we launched the extension of the second plant that now produces one million tonnes,” he recalled, referring to his firm ˜Ciment d’Afrique’ (CIMAF).

The bag production unit will supply factories, the whole country and factories in the sub-region with 100 million bags, in collaboration with Austrian partners.

Morocco has become the largest foreign investor in Cote d’Ivoire, with 22% of the total investment injected in the country’s economy in 2015, according to figures released by the Ivorian Investment Promotion Centre (CEPICI).
