In January Cemtech Limited will start construction of a US$ 95m cement plant in Kenya’s West Pokot County. The feasibility study
shows that the area has large limestone deposits with the potential to produce1.2 mmtpa. Cemtech’s General Manager, Diptish Nandha said that they have finalised the logistics that had led to delaying the project for the past five years.
In Kenya, cement factories are currently enjoying increased demand because of the major projects such as the Standard Gauge Railway, construction of major shopping malls across the country and the growing real estate business.
