Nigeria’s airports are likely to fall under the auctioneer’s gavel in line with the Federal Government reform programme.

Mr. Benjamin Ezra Dikki, the Director General of Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE), said procedures are under way to engage experts to design an appropriate framework for the concession, after which the Ministry of Aviation and the bureau would begin the process of their concession.

Other enterprises listed for auction this year include residential houses, assets of Nigeria Coal Corporation (NCC), in Inyi, Amansiodo, Okpara and Onyema Coal Blocks, Nigeria Coal Blocks, Owupa Coal Block, Naraguta and Maiduguri Bricks, non-core assets of Makeri and Mineral Houses, residential houses/vacant lands and Ogwashi-Azagba Coal Block.

NMC Joint Venture and Associated Companies are also likely to be auctioned. Ajaokuta Steel Company and NIOMCO are also among properties scheduled for privatisation.
