Tunis Bay Project Company has announced that it has started discussions for the development of a 523-hectare financial park at Tunis Bay, Tunisia.
Tunis Bay Project Company, which is a Dubai-based development company for the project, aims to construct North Africa’s first offshore financial centre.
Tunis Financial Harbour will consist of four separate business clusters; a Takaful/insurance hub, advisory centre, investment banking and an international financial exchange.
Also planned are residential and leisure facilities, including a Marina, 18-hole championship golf course and a residential complex with luxurious villas.
Tunis Financial Harbor will provide 16,000 new and mostly skilled jobs in various sectors.
Although the company has not signed any deals so far, construction of the harbour will be a first, since it will be strategic to Carthage International Airport – just 15 km away – and at the heart of the Mediterranean.
