Profica extends East African footprint

24 March 2017

Leading construction and property solutions company, Profica, has been operating successfully in the African continent for over a decade.  Profica has a strong track record in Kenya and Rwanda and has just announced the opening of its new offices in Tanzania and Uganda to strengthen its East Africa operations.  These will complement an already well-established presence in Kenya.

Thierry Giannone, Profica’s Director of East Africa operations says that the decision to have people on the ground in Tanzania and Uganda was a logical ‘next step’ for the company, in that interest and activity in the region has been steadily growing.   “In Uganda, we’ve already completed a smaller-scale project for high-profile international client, Google.  This was a turnkey fit-out of their new office space.

In Kenya, under the guidance of Profica Kenya’s Project Director, Jan Seemann, project management of Booking.com’s office space and Google was completed in December last year.” Additionally, Profica completed the Radisson Blu project in Upper Hill and continues to provide services to the Garden City mixed use precinct development.

Profica provides a diversified service offering that includes project and construction management, development project management and tenant coordination, as well as turnkey solutions.Profica CEO, Tim White, says that Profica’s long-term strategy has always been to develop a visible African footprint beyond South Africa.  He says, “Profica has invested in building dedicated teams in the regions.  This makes business sense in that it removes those challenges inherent in trying to hit the ground running in locations where there are cultural unknowns.  We are able to meet our clients’ needs by providing a focused and high-quality service with local understanding.”

Reflecting the optimism in the area is the East Africa Property Investment Summit (EAPI), a highlight on the calendar for property professionals in the region.  The event will be held in Nairobi in April, and Profica is one of the sponsors.
