Engineering and construction group SNC-Lavalin has been awarded four projects by Sasol.
The first three contracts will be carried out at Sasol’s Secunda plant, with the first project involving engineering, procurement and construction modifications for the Dorr Oliver filters and their respective auxiliaries at Sasol Synfuels’ Coal Processing West Plant.
Work on this project had already started and was due for completion early in May.
Secondly, SNC-Lavalin will implement a project to monitor fugitive emissions at predetermined points on the piping systems of the Sasol Secunda plant. When completed, the Sasol environmental department will transfer the readings into a database for interpreting and monitoring.
This project – which will see 100 000 points monitored a year – will be completed in July 2017.
The third contract will entail provision of welding hot-work services.
The fourth project will see the SNC-Lavalin Kentz Field Operations team working on the preparation for the first-quarter wax plant shutdown, in Sasolburg.
