Exim Bank of China is set to issue 500bn/- loan to the government for the construction houses for the police force in the country, the House was told yesterday.
Deputy Minister for Home Affairs, Hamad Yusuf Masauni said this when responding to a question raised in the National Assembly by Tunduma Member of Parliament (MP), Mr Frank Mwakanjoka (Chadema).
Mwakanjoka wanted the ministry to clarify plans it was taking to solve the shortage of housing for policemen.
Masauni noted that the government had already signed an agreement with the China-based bank. He said that about 4,136 houses in 17 regions both in Zanzibar and Tanzania Mainland will be built.
