President Jakaya Kikwete on Monday met Nigerian business magnate, Aliko Dangote for talks on the multi-billion cement factory being constructed in Mtwara Region.
Dangote said the factory will be the largest in the East and Central Africa.
The statement issued by the Directorate of Presidential Communication pointed out that President Kikwete has been in the forefront, pushing for the construction of the plant, aiming to improve investment and bolster the quality of cement in the country.
Dangote was quoted by the media yesterday as saying that when the plant starts work next year, they will assess how to reduce pressure on the price of the product.
