The 30th PPC Cement Riebeek Bergmarathon is set to take the Boland town of Riebeek West by storm on Saturday, 1 August 2015 and with entries having opened, the race is on for serious athletes, as well as recreational participants, to sign up to book their places for this popular event.
Sponsor’s PPC and the hosting Swartland Athletics Club are confident that this year’s event, which offers race distances of the 42.2km marathon, the 21.1km half marathon, the 10km run/walk and the 5km fun run, will see a further increase in entry numbers. PPC Riebeek West General Manager Bernard Venter said that the much-looked-forward-to event has become an extremely popular date on the domestic athletics calendar, with the race having gone from strength to strength, and enjoyable to both young and old, serious and fun participants.

The race begins and ends at the PPC Riebeek factory. Goods from the surrounding district on sale will include wine, olives, jams and, of course, all sorts of freshly-prepared food.
The event also encourages participation of the local schools in the area. The school with the most entries will receive a monetary donation which will go towards empowering the lives of the learners at the school.
