Muthaiga Golf Club has invited international hotel chains to submit Expressions of Interest (EOI) for construction and management of a five-star hotel expected to be complete by 2017.
The new US$ 64.5m hotel will have 200 rooms, a business centre, conference centre with two ballrooms, sports courts, a spa with treatment rooms, kids and teens club, a fitness centre and food and beverage outlets.
It will be located to meet the demands of business travellers to Nairobi. The move to construct the hotel was informed by the number of multinationals who have set up their regional offices in Nairobi and the growing number of business travellers.
Muthaiga Golf Club has, In the recent past, been modernising the course to make it more appealing to members. The hotel will be a plus to its efforts in diversification.
