The prestigious Innovative Excellence in Property Development Awards ceremony on 11 June awarded No. 1 Silo the Overall Green Award and the Corporate Office Development category. The neighbouring No. 2 Silo was the winner in the Residential Development category.

Both No.1 and No.2 Silo developments form part of the greater Silo District. The third project in the district is the historical Grain Silo Complex that will be repurposed to form the Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa. The V&W Waterfront has committed R500-million to the redevelopment project.

Both No. 1 and No. 2 Silo developments have received recognition for innovation in design by the Green Building Council of South Africa (GBCSA). No. 1 Silo was the first commercial building to be awarded a 6-star Green Star SA rating by the GBCSA in 2013, signifying world leadership. No. 2 Silo was the first residential development to be rated under the GBCSA Multi-Unit Residential v1 Design Rating tool and received a 4-star Green Star SA rating for design.
