Some of the speakers you can expect to see at this year’s event are:
- Thierry Bogaert, CEO of Bogaert Architecture in France and pioneer of industrial architecture. With more than eighty major schemes in 20 countries, Bogaert participates regularly in the design and modernisation of industrial facilities or, more prosaically, in their visual regeneration.
- Taco Voogt is the technical director of the Concrete Manufacturers Association (CMA). A civil engineer and paving specialist, Taco took up residence in South Africa 31 years ago when he joined Murray and Roberts. He moved to Concor Technicrete (now Technicrete) in 1986 and still works for the company on a consultancy basis.
- Greg Babaya, Head of Infrastructure at Stanlib has more than 18 years of experience in energy financing, project finance and infrastructure investing in Africa, North America and Latin America.
- Karen Eicker, Director at Architects Collective, has written for SA’s foremost built environment publications, winning her the SAPOA Property Feature Journalist of the year award in 2010. Karen is a founder and director of the Architects’ Collective, which hosted the Architect Africa Film Festival nationally in 2007, 2008 and 2010. She is also Commissary General of the International Union of Architects (UIA) World Congress on Architecture, to be held in Durban in August 2014.
- Francesco Surico, R&D Manger in Concrete Admixtures at MAPEI, has over 23 years of experience in the industry. Francesco is currently providing support to regional areas through strategic planning in the field of innovation and assistance at MAPEI
