Alexander Forbes building nominated

28 May 2013

Nominated for the 2013 Fulton Awards, the Alexander Forbes building in Johannesburg was built in just 22 months. This 8 storey, 36 950 m2 building includes a horizontal concrete area of 101 000 m2 with a total amount of 43 000 m3 of concrete being poured. The facades of the building feature natural concrete as a finish and innovative pillar construction.

Paragon Architects will be hosting a site visit during the Totally Construction Expo being held in Sandton from 26 – 29 May 2014.  The building is a flagship 4 Star Green Star rated building, located opposite the Sandton Gautrain Station. This architectural tour will reveal the design processes of a large north west facing building, the workings of a bespoke, responsibly designed sustainable structure that reflects the transparency of a financial services company; and the elements of concrete, exploiting the potential now possible with parametric modelling.
