‘Clay brick still one of the most energy efficient building materials’

14 July 2015

Concrete.TV recently interviewed the Clay Brick Association of South Africa’s new executive director, Jonathan Prior. Prior talks about the objectives and responsibilities of the Clay Brick Association of South Africa, and how the association supports its members with research and legislation.

The association focuses on setting and maintaining standards for the industry as well as ensuring that its members supply the best quality product available to the market.

Clay Brick Association members also face a number of challenges including continuous changes to new government regulations coming in. For members to keep up and maintain with these regulations poses a challenge.

Clay Brick monitors all legislative and standards issues, and acts as the liaison between the industry, government and other organisations representing the housing, building and construction industries.

Prior states that “clay brick is still one of the most energy efficient building material available today and offers a low maintenance solution to the market”.

The Clay Brick Association will be exhibiting at the Cape Construction Conference and Trade Expo happening at the Cape Town International Convention Centre on the 12 -13 August 2015.
