Coatings for Africa leads innovation in African coatings industry

03 June 2015

Coatings for Africa hosted by the Oil & Colour Chemists’ Association (OCCA) and the South African Paint Manufacturers Association (SAPMA) in conjunction with Hypenica was the biggest showcase of coatings technologies, paint and related products on the continent. Coatings for Africa connected the entire value chain, from raw material suppliers to end users of the finished paint or coatings products.

Recognising opportunities in South Africa and beyond, Coatings for Africa created a completely new experience in 2015. With a distinctly pan-African focus and a minimum of 10 African countries represented, the event will continue to connect buyers and sellers from across sub-Saharan Africa as well as globally.

The 2015 event welcomed over 2000 people to the Sandton Convention Centre, where the Totally Concrete and African Construction Expo was also hosted. The event facilitated innovation and education for success in Africa’s paint and coatings industry. The symposium and expo created the scene for progress when the world’ leading experts shared their latest findings and application case studies. The African coatings industry remains key to supporting the continent’s ever-growing development requirements. The future for the paint and coatings sector looks particularly promising, given the strong economic outlook, long-term demographic growth and rising urbanisation across Sub-Saharan Africa.
