Concrete in off-shore wind farms

In the UK concrete gravity bases are being developed for off-shore wind farms as a more effective alternative to steel bases. Self buoyant and buoyancy assisted alternatives are being investigated. Using  3,000 cubic metres of concrete per base, the team are hoping to build 1,000 of these bases over the next 10 years, using a total of 3 million cubic metres of concrete.
