New Elevetor Tank used for eco-sustainable commercial mall.

19 May 2017

Mondo Juve Mall is the largest shopping centre in the Piedmont Region, located in close proximity of the Juventus Football Club training centre, and one of the most innovative malls in Europe.

Spreading over a total area of 82.000 m², on a land area of about 340.000 m², the mall was designed with a strong eco-sustainability vision; therefore, some of the most innovative green technologies have been selected for the production and re-use of clean energy as well as control of energy consumption.

Geoplast’s New Elevetor Tank, the permanent formwork for in situ cast concrete water storage systems, was chosen to create 4.000 parking spaces with draining pavement while allowing rainwater collection and its re-use for irrigation and fire system.

New Elevetor Tank ‘s structure of grid, pillar and cap ensures high load-bearing capacity of the slab with limited concrete consumption, when compared to traditional systems. Geoplast’s innovative solution is ideal to create an underground retention basin, which gradually drains water into the drainage system, preventing overloads on the sewer systems.  It is usually employed under car parks and high traffic areas and the high storage capacity of New Elevetor Tank permits a very deep installation, without affecting the surface.
