Bonginkosi Madikizela, the Western Cape Minister of Human Settlements acknowledges there have been a number of challenges for government to tackle the R26 billion infrastructure backlog in the Western Cape province. He suggests that the private sector should drive the housing delivery and points to cumbersome legislation that discourages private sector from getting involved.
Madikizela also comments on the housing delivery protesters and pleads for communities that partner with government and private sector instead of culture a mentality of free deliveries.
